About Getaway Grid

Getaway Grid is a free top-down driving game in your browser: race across a neon city to hit pickups before the clock runs out while the heat — and the police — keep rising. No download, no sign-up, works on Chromebooks and phones.

Getaway Grid is an original city-driving game for a browser tab. Race between pickups, manage the clock and escape police chases using its own code-drawn city and vehicles.

It is an original game in the spirit of the classic top-down crime-driving games: a dense city grid, a ticking clock, and a heat meter that turns every run into a chase.

How to play

  1. 1Follow the arrow to the glowing pickup marker. Each pickup adds cash and time to the clock.
  2. 2Every pickup raises your heat level. More heat means more police cars, and they drive smarter.
  3. 3Crashing into buildings costs speed; getting boxed in by police costs health. Lose all health or run out of time and the run ends.
  4. 4Use the handbrake (Space) to drift around corners — chaining near-misses earns bonus cash.
  5. 5Daily Run generates the same city and pickup route for everyone today.
Keyboard

W / ↑ to accelerate, S / ↓ to brake and reverse, A D / ← → to steer, Space for the handbrake. P or Esc pauses.

Touch

Your car accelerates automatically. Hold the left and right buttons to steer, the brake button to slow down or drift.
